Ace Hotel New York

Workability Rating

"Long tables are equipped with power outlets, and living-room style couches and tables are great for meetings. The music is loud yet not overwhelming. There are menus on each table and a wait staff that will bring food ranging from coffee and pastries to full entrees. The wait staff does not mind if you prefer not to order anything. There is an area just up the stairs with a table, desk, more seating and outlets. Tends to get crowded during happy hour. Bathrooms downstairs. Great for meeting other digital nomads. To top it all off -- the name of this neighborhood? NoMad (North of Madison Square Park).Get a great cup of coffee at Stumptown (it's inside the hotel) then go to the communal work tables and enjoy. Every seat has its own set of electrical outlets and USB-type connections. WiFi is free and you can login as a visitor to the Lobby's network. Great place."

  • The lobby is closed at 4am. I needed to do work this morning and when I got there the lobby wasn’t open. So 24 , yes the hotel is if your staying there the lobby isn’t 24 hours.

Ace Hotel is like one of those classics. It’s not the best, nor is it the worse, but it is a safe recommendation to tell to someone if they ask you for a good place to get work done for free in Manhattan. I have been there many a times, and finding seating is hit or miss. Consider yourself lucky if you can snag a middle seat on the couch. The vibe is great though — sexy and hip.. mostly because it is dark in there.
