Pioneer Q & A
How did you start working remotely? Was it something you sought out or stumbled into?
It was definitely something I sought out. My dream is to travel the world and I wanted to be productive while doing so. So I went to school to be a developer.
What do you do for work and for fun?
I am a front end developer for work. For fun I like to explore, hang out on the river, and enjoy the company of awesome humans.
What cities do you call “home” and why do you want to be a Workfrom ambassador?
Portland! To make it easier for people all over the world to find place to work. I know so many people that could benefit from the service and I want to be apart of adding awesome spaces!
How did you find out about Workfrom and why do you want to bring it to your area?
Once I realized I wanted to work remotely I googled it almost everyday trying to see how I could make that dream come true. Through that I found Workfrom. I want to bring it all over the world because I think it is a much needed resource, and the community Workfrom creates I think is something remote workers all over will benefit from.
Any tips you’d like to share for others wanting to or already working remotely?
Get out of the house! I do my best work out and about. If you aren’t working remote yet but want to, just start planning and put the plan into action. It will happen once you get started 🙂
Any tips for those wanting to visit and work from your area?
Portland is where Workfrom started, so there are a ton of great places to find on the site. I’d also recommend picking a place for the morning, and a place for the afternoon. Everything is so close you can experience more, and also get a great walk in the middle of the day.
What do you like most about Workfrom, and what would you like to see above all else come from us in the next year?
I love the support it gives to the remote community. I’d love to see the categories of workspaces be evolved. Everyone loves a good coffee shop but finding places like sports bars, or places with couches, or a good Airbnb would be really cool.
