Pioneer Q & A
How did you start working remotely? Was it something you sought out or stumbled into?
I stumbled into remote working after deciding to switch roles from the crazy client-facing consulting work I was doing before (traveling Monday to Friday every week, away from my kids). We have a (very nice) office in my city, but I simply enjoy working in various different environments to keep my work focused and my soul exploring!
What do you do for work and for fun?
It’s kind of marketing analytics. For fun, my kids and family are everything. And photography.
What cities do you call “home” and why do you want to be a Workfrom ambassador?
Taipei, Vancouver — I’m all into crowdsourcing, and what to contribute!
How did you find out about Workfrom and why do you want to bring it to your area?
Stumbled across it on Apple App Store.
Any tips you’d like to share for others wanting to or already working remotely?
Keep your schedule routine/consistent! If you often let your hours slip here and there, you’ll end up losing all structure to your work/life balance.
Any tips for those wanting to visit and work from your area?
Tons of great little cafes abound, and boutique roasters are springing up everywhere — like, “every few blocks” everywhere! Many are in hidden alleys rather than on (expensive) main street locations, so don’t be afraid to wander a bit. (Taipei is quite safe, no personal safety issues here.)
What do you like most about Workfrom, and what would you like to see above all else come from us in the next year?
Being able to quickly/simply add a space from within the iOS app.
Those questions about what tables/seats are in each space? Maybe clarify whether the numbers we’re entering are actually # seats or # tables or what the units are?
