Pioneer Q & A
How did you start working remotely? Was it something you sought out or stumbled into?
Coffee shops are now my haven. Remote work started when I wanted to get away from home to study for exams. The busyness of the people and mellow atmosphere made them the perfect place for me to focus.
Do you still work remotely?
Yes, whenever possible.
What do you do for work and for fun?
I’m a full-time student who does odd administrative work on the side. For fun, I snowboard, write, and plan events.
What cities do you call “home” and why do you want to be a Workfrom ambassador?
Toronto, Ontario; Vancouver, BC
How did you find out about Workfrom and why do you want to bring it to your area?
Not entirely sure of the specifics but just from scavenging the internet. There has to be more people like me who thrive when they work outside of typical work and home spaces. Vancouver has a lot of city life and I’d like to share my experiences as well as acquire new spaces to explore.
Any tips you’d like to share for others wanting to or already working remotely?
Always fully charge your technology before heading out. Some places lack power outlets while others are too busy for you to snag one.
Any tips for those wanting to visit and work from your area?
Don’t be afraid to step inside a quiet coffee shop!
What do you like most about Workfrom, and what would you like to see above all else come from us in the next year?
Workfrom’s layout and clean interface makes it easy to work with and fun to explore. I’d like to see more filters in regards to describing the different work spaces to appeal to a wider audience’s interests.
