How did you start working remotely? Was it something you sought out or stumbled into?

Two years ago, my country began to enter into a political crisis that is still in progress and is not expected to stabilize. During this phase I became unemployed and lost the motivation to work for large companies, because I no longer identified with the objectives. From there, I looked for other alternatives and discovered an incredible community of people who are self-employed and are in favor of collaboration. It opened my mind not just to new opportunities but a new, more honest and healthy lifestyle.

What do you do for work and for fun?

I work with mobile application development. During my free time I like to relax producing music.

What cities do you call “home” and why do you want to be a Workfrom ambassador?

São Paulo. I really enjoy working on the coworking model and I already participate in many meetups here in my city. Since I started doing this, I realized how much collaborative work is productive and how important it is to help with the community even if it is voluntary.

How did you find out about Workfrom and why do you want to bring it to your area?

I was looking to know which were the best platforms on the internet that favor and encourage freelance remote work.

Any tips you’d like to share for others wanting to or already working remotely?

Create local communities as this will create a demand that may be waiting for people who live close to each other.

Any tips for those wanting to visit and work from your area?

Visit the coworking companies, there are many here.

What do you like most about Workfrom, and what would you like to see above all else come from us in the next year?

What I liked the most about the workform is the way the platform encourages the interaction of the people that are around. Perhaps the biggest barrier of remote work (in my case) is the distance between the supplier and the customer, since many clients prefer professionals working in the same city as them. I believe it is very important to encourage and discuss this subject locally, so as to interact more with people in the same city. That’s why it’s critical to create local communities to talk about this.
