How did you start working remotely? Was it something you sought out or stumbled into?

Worked for a company in Los Angeles for over 10 years. Couldn’t take the 9-5 anymore, so decided to take a risk and quit. When quitting said-job, the same company offered me regular contract work remotely from then on! I have always wanted to work independently, and my experience, education, and background fit perfectly with remote work. Now I get to live anywhere and work at any hour, as long as I meet production deadlines at the end of each month!

What do you do for work and for fun?

For work, write journals and articles that are published worldwide in the healthcare industry

What cities do you call “home” and why do you want to be a Workfrom ambassador?

London, Vienna (Austria), Edinburgh, DC, Los Angeles

How did you find out about Workfrom and why do you want to bring it to your area?

LonleyPlanet: One of the best accounts to follow on twitter for novel travel ideas.

Any tips you’d like to share for others wanting to or already working remotely?

Create a regular schedule for yourself to get things done, have a weekly to-do list, tell everyone what you do and invite others with an introductory offer to try out services you provide, and never be afraid to leave structured corporations.

Any tips for those wanting to visit and work from your area?

Be at the location early morning to grab a seat for all day comfort, have an extra phone/laptop charger (in case all a/c outlets are taken), have a cell phone, hydrate with lots of water, and be friendly and forthcoming with others working in your vicinity.

What do you like most about Workfrom, and what would you like to see above all else come from us in the next year?

So far, the website is cool. I have yet to try it out in the real world…which I will do, beginning mid-November.
