How did you start working remotely? Was it something you sought out or stumbled into?
I work remotely only on occasion, but am working to shape coworking spaces in public libraries across our county.
Do you still work remotely?
Only on occasion.
What do you do for work and for fun?
I am a Senior Librarian and the Business and Innovation Services Specialist for the Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library. I enjoy exploring and learning about the Tampa Bay area.
What cities do you call “home” and why do you want to be a Workfrom ambassador?
Tampa. I am the Business and Innovation Services Specialist for the Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library and am interested in making our spaces (25 locations across the county) as cowork-friendly as possible.
How did you find out about Workfrom and why do you want to bring it to your area?
I was doing research in preparation for launching a coworking initiative in our public libraries. We have many coworking spaces in our area that offer fee-based amenities–many of which are things that our libraries offer every day for free. I am interested in getting the word out about our spaces and reframing how people see libraries.
Any tips you’d like to share for others wanting to or already working remotely?
Check out your public libraries! Most have free wi-fi, flexible seating areas, spaces for meeting, equipment, tools and resources…for FREE!
Any tips for those wanting to visit and work from your area?
Check out our libraries. If you don’t see what you are looking for, tell us and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
What do you like most about Workfrom, and what would you like to see above all else come from us in the next year?
I like that people can join the network from anywhere and investigate coworking spaces in advance or on the go. I would love to see support/branding for participating cowork locations.
