How did you start working remotely? Was it something you sought out or stumbled into?

My company is distributed in a way. I have always liked the freedom of working remotely, albeit it makes me feel lonely when I’m working at home! This is why I’m very interested in the workfrom concept and would love to participate as an ambassador for places in the Philippines.

Do you still work remotely?

Yes

What do you do for work and for fun?

I am Marketing VP at a startup called Sezzle. For fun, I like to bike, listen to podcasts, write, and make art.

What cities do you call “home” and why do you want to be a Workfrom ambassador?

Cebu, Minneapolis, Charlotte. I am a Philippine native who work for a startup based in Minneapolis. I have planted some roots in Charlotte so I will keep on going back there. My job also requires me to travel back and forth to Cebu, Philippines. When I have long layovers, I look for hangouts at the airport or look for coffeeshops nearby.

How did you find out about Workfrom and why do you want to bring it to your area?

Google. Having a community of people working independently helps everyone produce better work. It’s fun to meet people.

Any tips you’d like to share for others wanting to or already working remotely?

Don’t be afraid to try out different places. A change of environment can make working a lot more fun. Just make sure to bring earphones in case a place is noisy!

Any tips for those wanting to visit and work from your area?

Research about the place but don’t get stuck in an analysis paralysis state. Explore fearlessly!

What do you like most about Workfrom, and what would you like to see above all else come from us in the next year?

Next year, I would love an app that notifies me of all the places nearby. It would be great if there was a way to turn on being geo-targeted and be served ads about specials, promos and even events.
