How did you start working remotely? Was it something you sought out or stumbled into?

It is both something I looked for in an organization and something I have built within our standards of doing business within our org. I am the COO of Spikeball Inc. 50% of our staff work remotely. Part of our philosophy and benefits is to allow employees to work wherever they want in the world after 18 months of employment. Myself and my counter part, the CEO, believe having a remote work lifestyle is best for all and helps foster creativity.

What do you do for work and for fun?

I’m the COO of Spikeball Inc. I spend time with my family and travel

What cities do you call “home” and why do you want to be a Workfrom ambassador?

Naperville IL, Because there doesn’t seem to be anyone scouting in my area. Naperville is a growing community with some heavy tech hitters. There are a lot of people who work for companies in Chicago but live out in Naperville. I want to help foster and grow the remote working community in my area.

How did you find out about Workfrom and why do you want to bring it to your area?

I stumbled accross the site when looking for best practices in working remote. We are trying to educate our employees how to be a successful remote workers and your site is used as a reference for content

Any tips you’d like to share for others wanting to or already working remotely?

Keep an open mind, sometimes the most unlikely place can become a space where you are your most productive.

Any tips for those wanting to visit and work from your area?

Great 4g signal, the city is working on town wide intranet but it is not strong enough yet

What do you like most about Workfrom, and what would you like to see above all else come from us in the next year?

I love the flexibility. I would like to see you platform grow in resources. More locations to choose from and more content to educate people on the power and benefits of working remotely. Maybe even some info around how someone can create an awesome personal work environment such as a studio office shed
