How did you start working remotely? Was it something you sought out or stumbled into?

I moved to Seattle from Minneapolis two months ago. Right before I moved I was offered a position but my heart was set on moving. They decided to offer me a remote position.

What do you do for work and for fun?

I am a software engineer for work and for fun 🙂 I also like to bike, hike, camp, spend time with my newly adopted pup and meet new people!

What cities do you call “home” and why do you want to be a Workfrom ambassador?

Seattle, Minneapolis – I want to be an ambassador because crowd-sourced work place searching is a great idea and I want to be a part of it

How did you find out about Workfrom and why do you want to bring it to your area?

I google searched ‘cafe’s with work spaces’. I want to bring it to my cities because I believe a lot of remote work people can benefit from it without having to pay. It also benefits local cafes and shops that might be off the beaten path but have a lot to offer.

Any tips you’d like to share for others wanting to or already working remotely?

Keep yourself in check. Make sure you get up and move throughout the day. Don’t be afraid to socialize with others outside of work during your work hours. Get outside at least once. If you work from home, get some plants for your desk.

Any tips for those wanting to visit and work from your area?

There are so many remote employees living in Seattle and many are in the same boat, eager to meet new people and explore the city and get out of the house. Those simple facts can be enough to create a quick friendship.

What do you like most about Workfrom, and what would you like to see above all else come from us in the next year?

I love being able to see other people working nearby. I’m always down to meet new people and the potential to meet another person who’s also working is like having a coworker to interact with where you might not get that interaction outside of an office setting. I would love to see an integrated meetup feature instead of going through meetup.com
