Pioneer Q & A
How did you start working remotely? Was it something you sought out or stumbled into?
I was hired to perform my duties remotely because of my experience and proven success in the workplace.
What do you do for work and for fun?
By day I support web developers and maintain their code and environments. By night I game, enjoy music, and try to get out on the town. For fun I prefer to travel to new places.
What cities do you call “home” and why do you want to be a Workfrom ambassador?
Portland. I want to help people identify perfect places to work remotely by vetting each space personally and reviewing them from a remote worker’s perspective.
How did you find out about Workfrom and why do you want to bring it to your area?
Google showed me that there were already people working remotely in Portland.
Any tips you’d like to share for others wanting to or already working remotely?
Know your industry, and be prepared to learn, have a large space.
Any tips for those wanting to visit and work from your area?
Portland has tons to offer the remote worker. The downfalls are reliable Internet access, but the strengths are the myriad of coffee and cafes to discover.
What do you like most about Workfrom, and what would you like to see above all else come from us in the next year?
I like that the community can add, review and rank spaces that are friendly for working remotely. Like Yelp for Remote Workers.
