A laptop-friendly space in New York
A cafe inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It's right next to a big indoor atrium full of statues, with a wall of windows to Central Park. Admission is suggested donation, so just pay with whatever change you have on you, and then walk straight back one the first floor to the Medieval section and take a right at the big iron gates. They have espresso drinks, and decent sandwiches and baked goods. Pretty full at lunchtime on weekends.

Get there early for a good seat next to the window looking out towards Central Park.
