Pro tips

The wonderful large, iconic spaces (the Rose Main Reading Room and Bill Blass Public Catalog Room) are closed temporarily for restoration of their historic ceilings (set to reopen in fall 2016), but there are plenty of tables and chairs on the second floor, check out room #217 for ample tables and good old fashioned oak chairs to settle into. There are many outlets throughout embedded in the centers of most tables and also along the walls. There are of course the occasional asshats who mistake the library for Starbucks and try to conduct loud calls on their phones, but the glares of other library patrons seems to work to discourage this.
