How did you start working remotely? Was it something you sought out or stumbled into?
After working in the Federal Government for 4 years and graduating from Radford University, I decided to focus on developing my marketing career. During my job search I found how painless and productive working from home was. Plus traffic in the DC area is absolutely awful! Workfrom has further increased my interest in working remotely.
Do you still work remotely?
Yes and enjoy it.
What do you do for work and for fun?
I am a marketing freelancer and writer. For fun I like to travel, watching my favorite sports teams, music, and craft beer.
What cities do you call “home” and why do you want to be a Workfrom ambassador?
Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, MD. is where I call home. I want to be an ambassador because ever since I joined Workfrom.co it’s been nothing but positive results. The communication via Slack is outstanding and very helpful. Being a Workfrom member has developed a new hobby for myself in sharing workspaces. Workspace has given me a new activity that I throughly enjoy and has changed my life for the better.
How did you find out about Workfrom and why do you want to bring it to your area?
I believe I just randomly came across Workfrom when trying to research more information on working remotely. I wanted to find a community of remote workers and found Workfrom!
Any tips you’d like to share for others wanting to or already working remotely?
Find a place where you can be productive. It’s important to switch up your working area as a remote worker to increase productivity. Make sure to take breaks throughout the day.
Any tips for those wanting to visit and work from your area?
You’ll find many places in areas such as Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Baltimore that offers cozy coffee shops!
What do you like most about Workfrom, and what would you like to see above all else come from us in the next year?
Workfrom feels like a family atmosphere. I was automatically welcomed when open arms. I would like to see Workfrom expand more to the east coast. Sometimes it seems like main focus is areas to work from in the Portland area.
