Cafe de los Muertos
"First-and-foremost, this is my go-to coffee shop with varied pockets to work from for every need. It is located next to Citrix, HQ Raleigh and the new train station, so it's teeming with Raleigh's brightest from the warehouse district. The main front bar and the bench at the garage door are the regular's spots and you will wind up chattering with raleigh's most interesting folks here. Don't be a jerk, and for fucks sake, don't leave your dishes and don't try and sell everybody on whatever you are selling, just be a genuine human - Now that that is out of the way, the wifi is notoriously spotty and overloaded, as with almost every other shop downtown, but Mac (owner) designed the space to be device friendly. You will find outlets, some with USB, at EVERY DANG SEAT. While we are on seats, Muertos spared no expense or creative liberty on the seating types in the space. Bar stools, lounge chair, kids play pen, a church pew, an 8-person soda-shop table and another working bar for people who don't like to be bothered or socialized. If you just want to work and not be bothered, and like me, you like the coffee-shop sounds, a spot at the church pew is best. The upstairs is much more quiet and reduces the chance of you seeing your pal from last week and feeling obligated to stop and say hello. Crowed in the A.M., obviously, with everyone upstairs from the HUE getting coffee, but the service is ridiculously fast, so shut up and wait 2 minutes. Definitely a biking culture here. If that is your thing, say hello to Larz."
