"Heartland Cafe has been a progressive, community staple in Rogers Park since the 1970's. It currently operates as "hub", including an organic & all-natural grocery store, an organic juice bar, an actual bar, a restaurant and a music venue. The restaurant itself is usually real busy & noisy during typical restaurant hours (weekend mornings and weekday nights) but if you need a chill workplace Monday - Friday from 11-5pm, it's a great place to work! Wait staff is very friendly and used to people sitting for long periods of time with only a cup of coffee. However, you will get hungry, and I highly recommend the Heartland Panhandler. No wifi time limits and it's pretty reliable, but outlets are few and far between. Best place to plug in for a long period of time is at the tables next to the bar. Plenty of room to park your bike in front, although car parking is a whole other issue. Luckily the Morse Red Line stop is across the street (exit on Lunt side)."
