Water Avenue Coffee +2
"Look for outlets along the west wall and under the bars / standing desks made from 100yr old, local reclaimed fir. Since it's a popular spot for cyclists and can frequently fill up, look in the back for additional work space. Find additional street parking a block to the south and west - at the entrance to the Eastbank Esplanade."

There’s now a small menu here which just adds to the appeal. Fast WiFi, great coffee and good vibes. What else do you need?
This place is one of my top 3 favorite places to work in PDX. I rank based on food diversity/options (aka not bagels and croissants), bathroom, wifi, and tons of seats.
Their food menu is absolutely bomb. Sometimes, I don’t want to have a heart attack w/ caffeine… so I can only buy so many overpriced lattes and whatnot. FOOD, however… I am happy to spend money on, and they have such a great variety of sandwiches and breakfast items.
KEY: BUY THE CHIA SEED PUDDING. It is massive, $6, and super healthy and insanely delicious. They also have great sandwiches.
Water Ave, personally, is my #1 favorite coffee shop for this very reason – they mastered the food menu and have figured out how to scale it.
I’m pretty sure they close at 6p, not 7.
Updated 🙂
They just added a bunch more bike parking on the adjacent corners, now no trouble to lock your bike.
Wi-Fi speeds were *really* bad for me (Xubuntu on a Samsung laptop) and fantastic for my friend sitting next to me, on a newer MacBook Pro. I emailed WEBbeams support and was very impressed! Ericka from WEBbeams flipped a few switches and my speeds went up to normal (had something to do with the QoS setting) and said the hardware was old so she’d try to send out a new router soon.
Point being, I wasn’t going to go back since I couldn’t get work done, but WEBbeams really kicked ass, and now Water Ave is one of my goto places.
Great Atmosphere. Navigate to https://wifi.webbeams.com to login to wifi.
Can be tough to find parking nearby. Head towards the back of the shop for some good work space.
