In the wake of negative rhetoric and divisive policy during the recent presidential election cycle in the United States, it’s understandable many are overwhelmed and shaken by uncertainties ahead. It’s beyond difficult to see people dehumanized and targeted in such terrible ways all over the world. It reminds us of why we invested everything we had into what we believe in: the power of a global, diverse and inclusive community, of collaboration and belonging.
When we founded Workfrom, we focused our time on defining the environment we wanted to foster. Before we worked on a revenue stream, before we expanded and automated our platform, we put our future community first.
Technology has replaced much of the work millions have traditionally relied upon for their livelihoods and we understand how scary that is. Work norms are changing and the traditional 40 hour work week has become redundant for millions. Be that as it may, not everyone has the opportunity to participate equally in this changed economy and we need to do a better job of supporting this shift for all people. Everyone deserves a chance to live an economically viable and fulfilling life. We believe we can change our world, so long as we can be curious about ourselves, our neighbors and especially those who’ve had different experiences than our own. In that curiosity we will find more that relates us than separates us.
We believe in diversity, inclusiveness, respect and compassion for others. We are strongest and at our best when standing together and embracing human decency and fundamental rights for all.
We will continue to do our part to create a positive, welcoming and safe place for everyone to be their best selves. As an organization that embodies and values diversity and community at its core, we will do our part to ensure our community remains welcoming and respectful of all people. We believe in lifting up one another, fostering freedoms and supporting choice in our lives. We’ll continue to fight for those opportunities to be accessible by all—and thank you for being a part of a community we can all be proud of.
